You will learn and be given the tools to promote and educate others on the essential services and efficiencies we provide Food Rescue: The benefits and how-to's of rescuing food from other institutions to be distributed to your township residents in need. Are You Prepared for Retirement?: Panel of agencies and expert financial counselors. Class is designed for both those ready to retire and those in the early stages of preparation. Understanding the TA7: NEW Are you as confused as many of us on this state-required report? An experienced township will share what they have learned and interpreted the purpose of the form. Preparing for an Audit - the SBOA Checklist: State Board of Accounts personnel will explain the checklist trustees are given prior to audit and how you can be sure to be ready. SSI Reimbursement: Recycle your township assistance dollars that are expended on clients awaiting SSI through this program administered by the ITA. Understanding and Improving Fire Service for your Township: NEW Indiana Volunteer Firefighters Association presentation. Social Security Administration Programs: Agency presentation on programs provided that can assist your clients. Township Burials: Trustee presents how to get the job done start to finish. Township Board Member Training: Basic class on the duties and responsibilities of the township board. Plenty of time for questions from the audience. "Whose Business Is This?": Indiana Public Access Counselor will cover the laws pertaining to public records and meetings. Geared to trustees AND board members. Finding the Money for Fire Protection: Indiana Chiefs Association presents information on pursuing grants for the fire service. Indiana Housing & Community Development: Agency presentation on programs provided in your community. NEW Fire Protection Territories: Attorney, Financial Counselor and Trustee share their experience in forming a territory from start to finish. Whose Cemetery Is This?: Department of Natural Resources "Pioneer Project" director will inform you on how to determine for which cemeteries the township is responsible. Cemetery Restoration: Renowned expert will share techniques and "no-no's" in repairing and restoring headstones. Drug Epidemic: NEW Governor Holcomb has declared war on Indiana's drug epidemic. How can we help? Weeds & Fences: Two duties that can be overlooked and misunderstood. Get clarity from a township attorney and experienced trustee. Insurance - Required v Recommended: Experience insurance agent will describe different insurance products and tools to see that your township - and you and your board - are properly insured. Protecting Your Township Against Identity Theft: NEW Keeping It Legal While Denying Township Assistance: NEW Learn on what LEGAL basis a trustee can deny assistance. Board Member Roundtable: Sit with other township board members to share experience, discuss issues and ask questions. Facilitated by a township attorney and experienced board member. Clerk's Roundtable: Several options for your choice divided by population (rural, suburban, urban) Investigator Roundtable: Several groups divided by caseload (small, med. Lg.)
